US State Department Approves Sale of Mortar Defense Radar System to Saudi Arabia

The US Department of Defense announced today, Monday, that the US State Department has approved a potential sale of an aircraft surveillance upgrade system to Saudi Arabia for an estimated cost of approximately $582 million. The Pentagon stated in a statement that the prime contractor for the sale of the airborne tactical surveillance system "R.E-3A" and related equipment will be L3 Technologies.
