Around midnight, two newborn babies were found inside a box under the Ibrahim River bridge. They were transported by Father Majdi Eliawy to St. Martin's Hospital to ensure their well-being. Immediately, the Jbeil police station opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
The mayor of Ibrahim River, Sharbel Bou Raad, commented on the discovery of the two children under the bridge, stating, "We have no new updates on this matter, and as a municipality, we had informed the police station as a legal procedure. Its officers subsequently contacted Father Majdi Eliawy to take custody of the children and provide necessary medical care for them; our role here has ended."
For his part, Father Eliawy noted, "We are awaiting the completion of the investigation report from juvenile judge Jouel Abu Haidar in Mount Lebanon and the decision that will be issued by her." He indicated that "the children are currently in the custody of the 'Heavenly Happiness' association by order of Judge Dani Mansour, and we are awaiting the legal decision from the relevant authorities."
