Germany and the UAE Agree to Prevent Escalation of Conflict

A spokesperson for the German government stated that "the leaders of Germany and the UAE discussed the issue of Israel and the Gaza Strip in a phone call today, Wednesday, and that Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasized Israel's right to defend itself and the necessity of humanitarian care for the residents of Gaza." The spokesperson said: "Scholz affirmed that every life has equal value and that Germany will continue to advocate for the protection of civilians and for the ongoing access and provision of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip." Scholz and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan agreed to work to prevent the escalation of the conflict and to reach a political solution.
