Palestinian President Returns to Ramallah After Hospital Attack in Gaza

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has decided to withdraw from the scheduled quadrilateral summit on Wednesday with U.S. President Joe Biden, Jordan's King Abdullah II, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, upon receiving news of the bombing of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza. A senior Palestinian official stated that President Mahmoud Abbas made the decision to boycott the summit planned in Amman for tomorrow, Wednesday. The official added, according to the "Ain News" website, that Abbas decided to boycott the summit after the Israeli bombing that targeted the "Baptist" hospital in Gaza City, which resulted in the deaths of at least 500 people. According to the same official, the Palestinian president is "very angry and decided to return to Ramallah in the West Bank" and is "waiting for permission for a helicopter to take him to Ramallah." The bombing of the "Baptist" hospital occurred on the eve of U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Israel tomorrow, Wednesday.
