Average Income Required for a Family

Economist and financial expert Louis Habib anticipated that the disruption in the dollar exchange rate would continue to rise, stating that "if it weren't for the controls set by the central bank, the situation could have been worse." In a conversation with "Voice of Lebanon," he mentioned, "There may be concern about the country remaining in its current state." Regarding depositors storming the banks, Habib expressed surprise at the presence of dollars in banks after these incursions, adding that while they do not support such actions, he questioned: "Why can't money be given without problems in the banks?" He also considered that "the average required income for a family of four is five hundred dollars per month," describing the living conditions as "tragic."
