The French ambassador to the United Nations, whose country currently holds the presidency of the Security Council, announced that the council may meet tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss the situation in the Red Sea. Ambassador Nicolas de Rivière stated during a press conference, when asked about the international response to the Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea, "It is likely that the council will meet to discuss this issue soon, possibly tomorrow." He added, "The situation is dire... there is a recurrence of violations and military actions in this area."
