The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced today, Sunday, the release of one of the detainees who holds Russian citizenship. The "movement" stated that it released the hostage in appreciation of the Russian stance supporting the Palestinian cause. It is unclear whether the release of the Russian detainee is related to the exchange agreement reached between Israel and Hamas that came into effect on Friday.
