The Algerian YouTuber specializing in cooking, known as "Um Walid," has broken her silence after a website revealed record figures regarding her earnings from YouTube, which sparked widespread debate. According to the Algerian newspaper "El Shorouk," the chef, who recently received the diamond play button from YouTube, confirmed that she does not earn the reported astronomical figures. She added that she receives small amounts from the bank based on her views and subscribers.
"Um Walid" has not revealed her face since the channel's launch and has focused on providing economical cooking recipes. Earlier, the site "Net Worth Spot," which specializes in statistics, reported that the chef's wealth exceeded 4 million dollars. It noted that Um Walid’s channel on YouTube attracted 11.3 million subscribers since its launch in 2015.
Although it's impossible to arrive at an exact figure for her earnings, it suggested that her wealth could reach around 3.35 million dollars. The site explained that it based its earnings estimate on YouTube ad revenues. It mentioned that her net worth could be higher, considering other income sources for a YouTube user, with estimates reaching up to 4.7 million dollars. It added that she potentially earns around 838 thousand dollars annually, indicating that her channel attracts more than 465 thousand views daily.
