Biden and the Emir of Qatar Discuss Hostage Situation and Developments in Gaza

The Emirati Diwan announced in a statement today, Friday, that "Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed with U.S. President Joe Biden during a phone call the developments in Gaza." The White House stated: "The two leaders discussed the urgent need for the release of all hostages held by Hamas without further delay." It noted that "the leaders also talked about ongoing efforts to increase the flow of urgently needed humanitarian aid to Gaza and Israel's decision to resume fuel deliveries for life-saving assistance." The White House mentioned that they "agreed to stay in close contact regarding these issues." Qatar has sought to negotiate an agreement between Hamas and Israel concerning the release of some hostages.
