Ghada Aoun: I Filed Claims for Breach of Trust and Bankruptcy

Judge Ghada Aoun tweeted on her account on "X" (formerly Twitter): "To everyone who thought that the public prosecution in Mount Lebanon would return their money, I would like to clarify the following: money can only be recovered in two ways: either by declaring the bankruptcy of the bank or by a law being enacted that regulates the method of recovering these funds. The public prosecution initiates lawsuits. I have filed claims for breach of trust, money laundering, and bankruptcy." She added: "When filing for bankruptcy, the claimant must pursue their case before the civil court for the liquidation of the bank. The file regarding the 9 billion loans is still under consideration, and the decision to keep one bank's file open was to encourage transparency and urge other banks to lift banking secrecy to reveal the truth. Work is ongoing even regarding the bank in question."
