The Saudi evacuation ship "Amana" arrived at King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah today, Saturday, carrying 1,982 people from more than 17 nationalities worldwide. This marks the largest number of evacuees transported by a single ship since the kingdom began its humanitarian operations to evacuate Saudi citizens and the nationals of brotherly countries. With the arrival of this ship, the total number of people evacuated by the kingdom has reached approximately 5,000 since the evacuation operations began.
Additionally, two more ships, one Chinese and one Indian, arrived at Jeddah Islamic Port today, carrying hundreds of evacuees from Sudan. The Chinese ship transported 272 Chinese and 223 Pakistanis, while the Indian ship brought 300 Indian nationals. A representative of the Chinese embassy in Riyadh expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for evacuating over 1,100 Chinese to Jeddah, noting that the kingdom has made commendable efforts in evacuating the nationals of many countries, who arrived safely in Jeddah.
Meanwhile, Saud Al-Anini, Deputy Head of West Coast Ports Operations, stated that Jeddah Port has received a total of 11 evacuation ships from Sudan so far, emphasizing that the port is always prepared to welcome nationals from various countries and has allowed diplomatic representatives to assist their nationals at the port's docks.
