Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived at the venue for Riyadh's bid to host Expo 2030 in Paris, during his visit to France. Riyadh is competing with Busan, South Korea, and Rome, Italy, for the opportunity to host Expo 2030, which will coincide with the efforts of Vision 2030.
The ceremony, which includes an exhibition, is part of the nomination process to host "Riyadh Expo 2030" and aims to showcase the capital's readiness, plans, and projects for hosting the expo. This preparation is in anticipation of the vote to select the host city at the next General Assembly meeting, which will be held in November 2023.
The exhibition takes visitors on a virtual journey through Riyadh in 2030, starting from arrival at "King Salman International Airport," followed by a modern transportation tour of the capital's prominent landmarks and major projects, such as the Sports Boulevard, King Salman Park, Diriyah Gate, Qiddiya, and other massive developmental projects currently underway in the Kingdom.
