Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. George Klass received Al-Najma Club President Mazen Zaanni in his office at the ministry. The meeting was attended by the General Director of the Public Institution for Sports, Youth and Scouting, Mohammed Ouaydat, the head of the Public Relations Department at the ministry, Hassan Sharara, and the minister's office manager, Hussein Omar.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall sports situation, particularly in football. Zaanni presented a comprehensive vision regarding the conditions of Lebanese youth in light of the alarming spread of drug abuse, rising suicide rates, and social crises, as well as the role of sports and a major club like Al-Najma in reducing harm and its subsequent effects on young people.
Minister Klass and Zaanni addressed the dire state of sports facilities in Lebanon, specifically those dedicated to football, including the President Camille Chamoun Sports City. Zaanni, as a businessman, shared his vision for rehabilitating these facilities to serve the sport, its clubs, and national teams. He also emphasized the utilization of the surrounding land for building youth development programs.
Zaanni explained to Klass the efforts made by Al-Najma's current management in engaging fan bases from all regions, launching effective programs for different age categories, and reformatting and rehabilitating the first team to return it to competition. The minister wished him and the esteemed club represented by Al-Najma success and a return to the podiums of victory.
