Prime Minister Najib Mikati chaired a wide-ranging meeting at the Government Palace, which included ministers of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi, Public Health Firas Abyad, Information Ziad Makkari, and Environment Nasser Yassin, as well as the Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council General Muhammad Mustafa, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Lebanon Imran Riza, the Prime Minister's advisor Ziad Mikati, and representatives from all humanitarian, developmental, and relief organizations of the United Nations operating in Lebanon.
During the meeting, the emergency plan prepared by the United Nations was discussed to address the current developments in Lebanon in terms of services, humanitarian, health, and social issues, in addition to supporting municipalities and the civil defense in these circumstances. It was decided to hold a technical meeting tomorrow that will include representatives from the relevant ministries and UN agencies to finalize the action plan.
Additionally, the Prime Minister met with the Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon, Stéphanie Macoulm, to discuss the current situation and developments in southern Lebanon and Gaza.
