Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced on Wednesday that four education workers were killed and four others injured in a Russian attack on a school in the city of Romny in northeastern Ukraine. Klymenko added that rescuers recovered the bodies of the school principal, deputy, secretary, and librarian from under the rubble. He also noted that four local residents were injured while passing by the school in Romny, which is located in the Sumy region. Klymenko shared images showing emergency services personnel carrying a body on a stretcher. A photo released by the police showed rescue teams standing in front of the destroyed building and its debris. The local military administration reported that a drone launched by Russia bombed the school. Russia denies intentionally targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
