British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed his confidence in cyber protection on Thursday, stating that he follows all recommendations in this area. In response to a journalist's question about whether the Russian Federal Security Service had breached his security amid accusations against Moscow for interfering in the political process in Britain, Sunak said: "There are a number of defensive measures that both Members of Parliament and ministers have, and there are recommendations they follow. They also receive support from the National Cyber Security Centre, and I trust the defensive measures available to me."
London has claimed that Russian intelligence has made repeated attempts to launch cyber attacks targeting senior officials and important British institutions to gather information and use it to "interfere in political matters and democratic processes in Britain." The Russian ambassador to London, Andrei Kelin, was summoned to the British Foreign Office, which stated: "Several of these attacks resulted in document leaks, but the attempts to interfere have not been successful." The UK has also imposed sanctions on two Russian citizens alleged to be linked to the group "Callisto," which London accuses of involvement in cyber attacks.
