Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a phone call from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, who extended his congratulations to him and the Algerian people on the occasion of Eid. The two sides set a new date for Tebboune’s visit to Paris. The presidents discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, including Tebboune's state visit to France, which they agreed would take place in the second half of June. Efforts are ongoing by both countries' teams to ensure the visit's success. Tebboune was initially scheduled to visit France for a state visit on May 2 and 3, but the visit was postponed without providing reasons. Algerian media speculated that the postponement may be due to ongoing protests in France over pension laws, which are expected to escalate with the arrival of Labor Day on May 1.
