Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov indicated on Friday that he is closely monitoring reports suggesting that Western countries may impose a near-total export ban on Russia. He stated that new sanctions would harm the global economy. He added, "We believe that both the current sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation and the additional steps that the United States and the European Union may be currently considering will certainly damage the global economy. Therefore, this could lead to a further move towards a global economic crisis." Peskov also noted, "We must not forget that no country in the world has faced such a volume of sanctions. Thus, we are adapting and developing long-term plans, but we are also taking into account the risks associated with what our adversaries are considering." Japanese news agency Kyodo reported that G7 countries are considering a near-total export ban on Russia.
