The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, announced in a statement the closure of public and private schools, high schools, and vocational schools tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in the districts adjacent to the international southern borders. This decision comes due to the tension in the villages located in those districts and out of concern for the safety of teachers, students, and families. Halabi urged the public to follow the ministry's updates daily to monitor field developments and ensure the start of the academic year.
The National News Agency reported that most schools in the districts of Marjeyoun and Bint Jbeil will close their doors tomorrow, considering the current situation and to avoid any potential danger. In parallel, the region is witnessing a slight movement of families fleeing for fear of escalation by Israel.
