The EU Considers Sending a Force to Protect Navigation in the Red Sea

European diplomats announced today, Tuesday, that EU member states have provided initial support for the idea of forming a naval mission to protect ships from attacks by the Houthi movement in the Red Sea. The diplomats added that the aim is to establish the mission by February 19, with operations commencing shortly thereafter.
