The teams managed to find three Syrian children who were lost in Wadi Fdar / Jbeil and returned them safely to their families. In detail, the operations room of the General Directorate of Civil Defense received a report around 3:10 PM on October 17, 2023, about three children (under ten years old) of Syrian nationality who had been missing since the morning of that Tuesday. Immediately, the Civil Defense personnel headed to the specified location, equipped with vehicles, mountain rescue gear, and a drone to conduct a thorough survey of the area, which is characterized by steep slopes and rough roads, before nightfall.
After extensive ground and aerial searches from Fdar to Bishtlida, reaching the forests of Bantaal, they heard children's voices near the town of Baraka Hajoula. A team of civil defense rescuers, accompanied by the children's parents, proceeded to the site where they were found. The personnel confirmed their safety, provided minor first aid, and returned them to their families unharmed.
The Civil Defense statement indicated that its teams continue search operations in the area of Mansouriyeh, where a residential building collapse occurred, in addition to several southern towns that are under Israeli bombardment, as in various Lebanese regions.
