Arrest of Father and Son Using Apartment for Drug Trafficking

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Monday, stating: "As part of the ongoing efforts of the Internal Security Forces to limit drug trafficking and promotion operations in various Lebanese regions, information was received by the special group in the Judicial Police Unit regarding an individual and his son preparing an apartment to be used for drug promotion."

It added: "Based on this, elements of this group intensified their efforts and were able to identify the identities of the individuals involved, who are Lebanese: A. K. (born in 1961), with a criminal record related to drug trafficking, and D. K. (born in 1991). On July 13, 2023, a force from the group raided the apartment used for drug promotion in the Sad el-Bouchrieh area, and managed to arrest the first individual. Simultaneously, another force arrested the second individual in Mansour - Jbeil."

The special group in the Judicial Police arrested a father and son using an apartment in Sad el-Bouchrieh for drug trafficking and seized a weapon along with a quantity of narcotic materials.

During the search of the apartment, they found: 2 kg of cannabis, a quantity of cocaine and marijuana, 2 sensitive scales, a Kalashnikov rifle, and a war pistol.

The suspects were handed over with the seized items to the Central Anti-Narcotics Office for further investigation, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.
