The customs department at Beirut Port seized approximately 9 million Captagon pills hidden within a shipment of lentils intended for smuggling to Kenya as the first destination. Interior and Municipalities Minister Bassam Mawlawi announced the operation via his account on "X," highlighting a new initiative by the drug enforcement unit in customs. Mawlawi pointed out that investigations are ongoing to arrest those involved.
