"The Mail Reader" Wins at the Al Batinah Film Festival in Oman

The Al Batinah Film Festival in Oman concluded its second edition today, Wednesday, with the announcement of its awards. In the category of international short narrative films, the award went to the film "The Mail Reader," directed by Iraqi Dhofar Al-Mutairi. The jury awarded the Best Omani Short Narrative Film to "Ashes," directed by Suleiman Al-Khalili, and noted the film "What Our Right Hands Possess," directed by Saudi Hadi Al-Nasr.

In the documentary category, the Best International Short Documentary Award went to "My Ancestors' Land," directed by Pakistani Irfan Noor, while the Best Omani Short Documentary Award was given to "Longing," directed by Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri. The film "Ketam Anfas," produced by the Oman Television, won the Institutional Films Award, and "Fatima's Trace," directed by Jabir Al-Jabri, received the award for Best Film in the Human-Earth Relationship Film Competition.

The film "Silence," directed by Anwar Al-Mufarijia, was awarded the Audience Award in the narrative films category, while "Longing" won the same award in the documentary films category. The festival, organized by the Omani Association for Cinema, honored Egyptian actress Rogina and her husband, Ashraf Zaki, head of the Acting Professions Syndicate in Egypt, during the closing ceremony held at Nakhal Fort in the Governorate of South Al Batinah.
