The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qablan issued the following statement: "A thousand pieces of advice: set aside partisan and sectarian calculations, and quickly conclude the presidential settlement, as we are in the midst of a pivotal war threatening the core of Lebanon and its sovereignty. The issue is that of a country and a region amid an American-Atlantic assault leading the war from Tel Aviv and committing horrific acts of killing and genocide against women and children in Gaza, without achieving results amid escalating tensions and mobilized fronts in a region shaking severely. The moment for a major explosion is very possible, and the decision is firm to abort any new American project. The region's capabilities are vast and shocking, unprecedented in nature, and with any major mistake, all red lines will collapse."
He added: "Therefore, it is necessary to finalize the presidential settlement, not just to express intentions. Sympathy at this moment should translate into a presidential settlement that culminates in Parliament to meet the significant sovereign accomplishment at the southern borders. Anything less would squander Lebanon's greatest interests. If we consider it from the perspective of a single Lebanese family, the presidential settlement is possible in less than half a day. So, take the initiative, as the national opportunity passes like clouds."
