The Embassy of the State of Palestine announced in a statement that Azzam al-Ahmad, a member of the Executive and Central Committees of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Fatah Movement, received a delegation from the leadership of the "Ansar Brigade" at the Embassy of the State of Palestine this evening. The meeting took place in the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador, Ashraf Dabbour, Fatah Movement and PLO Secretary, Fathi Abu al-Ardat, member of the arena leadership in Lebanon, Munther Hamza, commander of the Palestinian National Security Forces in Lebanon, Major General Sobhi Abu Arab, and Secretary of the Fatah Movement and PLO factions leadership in Sidon, Maher Shbaitah.
During the meeting, the conditions in Ain al-Hilweh camp were reviewed, emphasizing the establishment and continuation of the ceasefire, and working to implement all other points related to the events in Ain al-Hilweh camp, which were previously announced by the Lebanese government and the Lebanese Army leadership in coordination with Palestinian leadership. This initiation was prompted by a proposal from Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri for a ceasefire that took effect on Thursday evening, September 14, 2023.
