An earthquake registering at 6.0 on the Richter scale struck early Friday east of the Gulf of Aden off Yemen's coast, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
According to Yemen's Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring Center, reported by the Saba News Agency, seismic stations recorded the quake at 12:07 AM with an average focal depth, approximately 173 kilometers from the Yemeni shores.
This seismic event followed two tremors recorded a day earlier in Yemen's Shabwah Governorate, in the southeastern part of the country, with magnitudes of 4.0 and 2.7, which were felt by local residents.
The previous tremors were registered about 42 kilometers southwest of Ataq City at a depth of 7 kilometers, while specialized teams continue to monitor the area's seismic activity.
