Daniel Noboa has taken the oath of office as the new president of Ecuador, pledging to reduce violence and create job opportunities through urgent legislative reforms. In his speech after taking the oath, Noboa noted that despite the difficult times Ecuador is experiencing, he decided to run for the presidency for the sake of the country, with a youthful vision that departs from traditional politics. Noboa stated, "I invite everyone to work together against our common enemies attempting to spread violence and misery," adding, "the mission is difficult and the days are few." Reuters reported that the 35-year-old Noboa won in the runoff election held last October.
