Baisry Inspects the Airport: We Will Continue Our Mission Despite Challenges

The Acting Director-General of General Security, Major General Elias Baisry, during his inspection of Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, emphasized the importance of the General Security's work at the airport and its precision in protecting the country's security, which starts at the airport. He underscored the security responsibility that falls on the General Security personnel in this facility, noting that their mission requires a balance between service, scrutiny, and quick-wittedness. He praised the self-capabilities of the General Security personnel, which often compensate for the lack of maintenance and technology, proving their ability to bear responsibility.

Baisry highlighted the importance of adhering to judicial instructions and measures as part of their commitment to responsibility, which the citizens might not fully understand, stating that General Security's work is primarily security-oriented before focusing on form and content. He commended the professionalism of General Security personnel at the airport, acknowledging their efforts, and remarked that "they are the face of the airport and the country alike, the first to meet those arriving in Lebanon and the last to see those departing." He noted that they do not only deal with passports; hence, they are engaged in both security and administrative missions. He assured them that "the directorate will always be alongside them" and encouraged them to "exercise patience and the ability to accommodate arrivals from all over the world, while being at their service and adhering to legal measures and procedures."
