White House: U.S. Strikes on Houthis are Effective

White House spokesperson John Kirby announced today, Wednesday, that initial reports suggest that U.S. strikes on Houthi targets have been effective. The U.S. military stated in a statement that it carried out more strikes in Yemen early Wednesday and destroyed two anti-ship missiles that the Houthis intended to launch toward the Red Sea. The U.S. Central Command indicated that Houthi forces launched three anti-ship ballistic missiles on Wednesday at the U.S.-flagged container ship "Maersk Detroit" while it was transiting the Gulf of Aden. They added in a statement that there were no reports of injuries or damage to the ship.
