Lavrov to "Israel": The Rules of War Still Apply

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on Israel's statements that it "will not stop until (Hamas) is destroyed," stating that Israel must consider that the rules of war still apply. This came during a press conference following the minister's participation in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Skopje, North Macedonia, where he said: "We hear statements from the Israeli leadership that they will not stop until they destroy (Hamas). I will not go into the details of the experts' reactions to that, nor how professional military officers commented on it, but I believe that no one has yet canceled the rules of war, and Israel must remember that."
