Discussion with Abu al-Hasan on Road Maintenance for the Baabda and Metn Regions

Member of the "Democratic Gathering," MP Hadi Abu al-Hasan, during his meeting with the Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, emphasized that “the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Public Works and the Lebanese Army for surveying coastal properties is an excellent step and is significant for collecting fines and fees from occupied coastal properties to enhance revenue collection.” He pointed out that “the Progressive Socialist Party has been advocating for this issue for decades and has worked on it, and former minister Ghazi Aridi had conducted a precise and comprehensive survey in 2012 through the Directorate of Land and Marine Transport, sending the results to the Ministry of Finance and relevant security agencies, in addition to parliamentary blocs.” Abu al-Hasan expressed his gratitude to Hamieh for this advanced step, stating, “Now, more than ever, we need revenues to meet the basic needs of citizens for medicine, healthcare, ensuring the school year, and providing the simplest services to the public.” The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss general developmental issues, particularly those falling within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport regarding the maintenance and rehabilitation of roads in the Baabda and Metn regions, which are in need of maintenance.
