Ukrainian Commander: Russia Reinforces Forces Near Bakhmut

A Ukrainian military commander indicated today, Monday, that "Russia is significantly amassing troops around the devastated city of Bakhmut in the east of the country and has shifted its forces from a defensive position to active operations." The commander of ground forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, wrote on the Telegram application, stating: "In the Bakhmut area, the enemy has significantly reinforced its units and shifted from defense to active operations." He added that "Russian forces have suffered heavy losses." Meanwhile, the Ukrainian General Staff reported: "Russian forces continue their attempts to regain control of Avdiivka south of Bakhmut," which the Ukrainian forces claimed to have regained in September.
