Khamenei Advisor: The Agreement Marks the End of American Dominance in the Region

General Yahya Safavi, the senior military advisor to the Iranian leader, has stated that the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia signifies the end of American dominance in the region and marks the beginning of a post-American era in the Gulf. Safavi made these remarks during the inauguration of the Air Force Museum on Sunday, saying, "The era of declining American and Zionist power has arrived. Looking towards neighbors and the East will enhance Iran's geopolitical weight and change the situation for the people. Iran should perceive the American-European tensions in Ukraine and the tensions in Taiwan as an opportunity and act with a clear strategy based on shared interests with China and Russia and the common threats posed by the United States to the three countries."

He noted that what we will witness in the future in the region "will be different from what has happened until now," emphasizing the importance of rationality when considering the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia. He asserted that it is in the interest of both the Saudi and Iranian sides, as well as the region, to focus on long-term friendship and rationality.

Safavi described the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia as a "political earthquake." He also considered this agreement, brokered by Beijing, to be "the second largest blow China has dealt to America," pointing out that Saudi Arabia is the largest oil supplier to China, as well as the strategic document between Iran and China aimed at investing in the development of Iranian infrastructure.

He highlighted a specific strategy adopted by China in the field of economic geography that extends from the South China Sea to the Gulf, adding, "It seems that China and Russia are assisting Saudi Arabia in becoming a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and this membership could serve as a barrier against NATO and Western military power in the future."
