Death of Congolese Soldier While Crossing Border into Rwanda

The Rwandan Defense Forces announced that "one soldier from the Democratic Republic of the Congo was killed and two others were arrested while this group crossed the border into Rwanda." They stated in their release: "Patrols from the Rwandan Defense Forces apprehended two soldiers, and the third soldier was shot when he opened fire on the patrols... No one on the Rwandan side was harmed." The statement noted that the detained soldiers of the Congolese Armed Forces were found with an AK-47 assault rifle, ammunition, a bulletproof vest, and bags of cannabis.
