Protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government and its plan to weaken the judiciary system resumed this Saturday evening for the twenty-eighth consecutive week. The demonstrations coincided with Netanyahu arriving at the emergency department of Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, Ramat Gan, after losing consciousness and experiencing chest pains while at his home in Caesarea. Medical tests revealed he was dehydrated, and it was decided to keep him under medical supervision overnight in the cardiology department, leading to the announcement of a postponement of the weekly government meeting scheduled for Sunday to Monday.
Tens of thousands of Israelis protested in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Hadera, Beersheba, Bat Yam, Netanya, Nahariya, Rishon Lezion, Afula, and dozens of other locations. The Israeli police preemptively closed several streets in Tel Aviv and Haifa ahead of the protests. Demonstrations began in Ramat Gan, Givatayim, and Dizengoff Square, culminating at the main protest site on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv, where the number of protesters was estimated to exceed 100,000.
In Haifa, thousands marched against Netanyahu's government from the Carmel Center, gathering at the Hurvitz junction while raising slogans in protest against Netanyahu and the government. Some protesters wore shirts bearing messages condemning the government, including "No Democracy with Occupation."
