Algerian Author Dominates Book Sales in Europe

The young Algerian writer Sarah Rivens, at the age of 24, has caused an unprecedented stir in Algeria and France, generating significant attention due to her books, which have achieved impressive numbers in online readership and sales in French bookstores. She has quickly become one of the most-read Algerian authors in history. Rivens, a pen name, has released three novels in French, all of which topped the best-seller lists and electronic book sales platforms in France, leading the French press to label her a "phenomenon." Her first novel, "Captive," or "الرهينة" in Arabic, garnered over 9 million reads on the "Wattpad" platform, which is dedicated to digital storytelling, while the second part of the novel achieved more than 8 million reads on the same platform.
