Issue Due to Poultry Farm in Batroun

Issue Due to Poultry Farm in Batroun

An issue has arisen between several residents of the town of Ehdé in the Batroun district and the owners of a poultry farm that has not met legal requirements for years, which releases foul odors into the air of the town and neighboring areas. The residents expressed their "outrage at the health damage caused by the farm over the years and the failure of discussions to find a solution to this issue." They appealed to environmental and health authorities and all concerned officials for the health of citizens to "take immediate action to put an end to the ongoing neglect by the farm owners, who only care about their interests and profits, disregarding the health of the residents." They urged the Minister of Environment in the caretaker government, Nasser Yassin, to visit the town and closely observe the situation, threatening escalatory measures if their demands to put an end to the project forcing them from their homes are not met.
