A session has been scheduled for the interrogation of the detainees in the child abuse case at the Gardereve nursery on July 18. The Attorney General of Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, referred the detainees in the case, the owner of the Gardereve nursery and one of the educators, Jenny Helou Khoury, to the investigating judge, after she charged the perpetrator Jenny Helou with attempted murder. In her referral to the investigating judge, she noted that "the attempt to force-feed the child while she is sleeping and pressing on her mouth could lead to suffocation and possibly death." The person who filmed the incident of abuse has been released, given that she exposed the ongoing abuses against children and cannot be held responsible, even if she delayed in reporting what was happening. However, she at least fulfilled her humanitarian duty in the eyes of the law by helping to uncover a crime committed against childhood.
