White House: Russian Aircraft Approached American Drone Dangerously Over Syria

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre announced today, Wednesday, that "a Russian aircraft dangerously approached an American drone over Syria earlier this week in violation of established international protocols and standards." She said in a press briefing, "We have seen early reports of a second Russian fighter jet this week that flew dangerously close to our drone, which was on a mission to defeat ISIS." The U.S. military stated yesterday, Tuesday, that "a Russian fighter jet struck the American drone with an incendiary projectile over Syria, causing 'significant' damage to one of its propellers."
