The "National Authority for Science and Research" opened the Beirut International Innovation Expo 2023, under the sponsorship of Mustafa Bayram, the Minister of Labor in the caretaker government, at the Lebanese University - Hadath. Following the inauguration, the Minister of Labor delivered a speech praising the "efforts of the National Authority for Science and Research that have defied all challenging circumstances," emphasizing that this expo "contributes to restoring confidence in Lebanon, and the participation of innovators, especially from outside Lebanon, is a confirmation of this confidence." He commended the holding of the expo at the Lebanese University, which "remains a beacon for science and innovation, across Lebanese territory," reaffirming "the importance of fostering innovation towards its investment and transformation into a driver for the economy and a provider of job opportunities."
Subsequently, attendees toured the expo, which included inventors from various universities, companies, and institutions, as well as a section featuring the youth winners of the science competition. The expo will continue on Thursday and Friday, from 10 AM to 4 PM, concluding at 4 PM, under the sponsorship of Minister of Industry George Bouchikian. More than 35 innovations will be showcased, both in-person and remotely, from: Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Armenia, Kuwait, Yemen, Belgium, Indonesia, Romania, the United States, Canada, South Korea, and Congo.
