Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced that Tehran has agreed with Khartoum to resume diplomatic relations and exchange consular representation in both countries, according to Sputnik. Abdullahian stated, "I agreed with my Sudanese counterpart to restore diplomatic relations between our countries and reopen embassies." He added, "We discussed the developments in Sudan and foreign interventions in the crisis in this country, emphasizing that the Sudanese crisis is a shared concern and confirming the necessity of dialogue and a ceasefire in Sudan." Earlier, the Sudanese foreign ministry confirmed that both Iranian and Sudanese sides discussed the restoration of relations between the two countries as soon as possible, emphasizing "the importance of returning Sudanese-Iranian relations to their previous state."
