The Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" revealed the latest developments regarding the injury sustained by French striker Karim Benzema during his team's match, Al-Ittihad against Al-Khaleej, yesterday Thursday, in the 15th round of the Saudi League. Benzema was injured during Al-Ittihad's 4-2 victory over Al-Khaleej and had to leave the pitch in the 38th minute.
On Friday, "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that Benzema's injury is a strain to the hamstring, requiring treatment for a duration of one week to ten days. Thus, the French striker will not participate in Al-Ittihad's match against Damak next Thursday.
Al-Ittihad is preparing to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from December 12 to 22. Al-Ittihad will kick off their campaign in the Club World Cup against Auckland City on December 12.
