Military Raids on Syrian Refugee Camp and Arrests of Wanted Individuals

The Army Command, Directorate of Guidance, issued a statement today, Saturday, stating: "A unit of the army, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided a camp for Syrian refugees in the area of Shweifat Desert and arrested 7 Syrians and 5 Bangladeshis for being without identification documents, and a Lebanese national (A.H.) for possessing military equipment and war ammunition. Additionally, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate in the Ghobeyri area arrested citizens (A.S.) and (A.Z.), who were wanted on several arrest warrants for drug use and trafficking, and a quantity of drugs was found in their possession, along with a military handgun and a large sum of money. The patrol also arrested a citizen (A.K.) in the Sabra area, who was wanted for shooting, drug use and trafficking, dealing in military weapons and ammunition, and forming a gang to assault passersby and create disturbances. The seized items were handed over, and investigations with the arrested individuals began under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
