The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, traveled today, Wednesday, to southeastern Ukraine to visit the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and assess the situation in an effort to reduce the risk of major accidents at the site. Grossi announced yesterday, Tuesday, that his attempt to mediate an agreement to protect the power plant is still ongoing. In an interview with Reuters in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro yesterday, he indicated that he is revising proposals to achieve a breakthrough on this matter. Moscow and Kyiv have repeatedly exchanged accusations of shelling the power plant site over the past year.
