Iranian Ground Forces Begin Two-Day Exercises in Central Region

Iranian state television reported that ground forces began a two-day drill today, Friday, to test the readiness of more than 200 helicopters for flight. Army spokesman Amir Cheshik stated on television that the exercises, planned earlier, aim to "face potential threats" to the Islamic Republic. No further details were provided. He added that the army has transferred forces and military equipment from seven Iranian provinces to conduct the drills in Nasrabad in the Isfahan province in central Iran.
