Emergency Measures for Shipping Routes to Cape of Good Hope

The French shipping group "CMA CGM" announced today, Friday, that its service (Nemo) connecting Europe, the Indian Ocean, and Australia will temporarily route via the Cape of Good Hope instead of the Suez Canal. The group stated in a customer notice on its website that the change is part of emergency measures concerning several services that usually transit through the Suez Canal. The Danish shipping company Maersk also announced today, Friday, that it will temporarily suspend bookings for some of its services due to security concerns related to tensions in the Red Sea.
