A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services indicated that "the U.S. administration will start accepting requests today, Monday, for another round of free COVID-19 testing kits to be distributed across the country." This initiative comes ahead of the holiday season in the United States, which begins with Thanksgiving on November 23 and ends with New Year's celebrations. During this time, travel via public transportation and gatherings in enclosed spaces often contribute to the spread of infections. According to the latest data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the weekly number of hospital admissions due to COVID-19 rose to more than 16,000 cases on November 11, up from 15,000 the previous week. However, this figure is lower compared to the same period last year, when the number was around 24,000.
