A report published on January 1st indicated that the Saudi Public Investment Fund contributed about a quarter of what sovereign wealth funds around the world spent last year, which totaled approximately $124 billion. The substantial spending by the Public Investment Fund reached $31.5 billion in 2023 compared to $123.8 billion for all sovereign wealth funds, according to a preliminary annual report from Global SWF, which tracks sovereign investment funds globally.
