Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad confirmed that "we are here to work with our Arab brothers to identify the facts to face the challenges we all encounter," noting that "the theme of this summit is joint Arab action, and we look forward to the future." In a press statement upon his arrival at Jeddah Airport today, Monday, Miqdad said, "We express our happiness to be in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and we wish this summit every success." He pointed out that "this is a new opportunity for us to tell our Arab brothers that we do not look to the past, but rather to the future, as there are many challenges that we need to discuss and rally our Arab forces to confront, including the issue of the Arab-Israeli conflict and climate matters." Earlier today, an official Syrian delegation arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to participate in the preparatory meetings for the Arab summit scheduled to take place on May 19 of this year.
